Following the postponement of the Vanarama National League North fixture between Chorley and Leamington on 14 November, Leamington will now make the trip up to Lancashire to take on the Magpies at Victory Park on Tuesday 12 January 2021 with a 7.45pm kick off time.

The Vanarama National League North fixture between Leamington and Gateshead has been rearranged again following the news that the Buildbase FA Trophy Second Round Proper (the round National League North and South teams enter) will not take place on the weekend of the 5th December. The Heed will now make the journey to Warwickshire on 5 December, with a kick off time of 3pm at the Community Stadium.

Details regarding the FA Trophy are yet to be finalised with the postponement of the competition due to the second lockdown stopping all non-elite sport, and we will bring news to you once dates are confirmed by the Football Association.

Today's fixture versus Chorley FC  has been postponed after a member of the Leamington squad who is asymptomatic, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The above decision was made following consultation between the two clubs and ratified by the CMO of the National League.

The National League have confirmed dates for our rearranged home fixtures against AFC Fylde and Gateshead. The recently relegated Coasters will travel to Warwickshire on 24 November (7.45 kick off) for the first meeting between the two sides in five years when an early Danny Newton goal for the Brakes was cancelled out by four Fylde goals as they went on to win promotion.

It hasn’t been that long since the Brakes hosted Gateshead, the last meeting was actually in January 2020 as the sides played out a 0-0 draw at the Community Stadium where Gateshead will now visit on 15 December with a 7.45 kick off.

The club were saddened to learn recently of the passing of Mitch Pearson.

Mitch was a club Vice-President and long term member of the 'Scrubbers Club', a band of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly at the stadium during the week performing rountine maintenance tasks. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him at Leamington FC and our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family and friends at this difficult time.

Whilst attendance at his service is limited,  we have heard from Mitch's family that his funeral cortege will turn out of  Church Lees, Bishops Tachbrook and right onto Mallory Road all the way to Banbury Road at 2:40pm on Friday 6 November. Anybody wishing to pay their respects in a socially distance way along the route would be really appreciated by the family.

RIP Mitch

£10M emergency support package from The National Lottery gives lifeline to National League clubs while fans are unable to attend.

Leamington FC would like to thank National Lottery players for their support during these challenging times. We are very grateful to benefit from a share of the £10M of funding that has been announced for all 66 National League clubs as part of a unique partnership between the National League and The National Lottery which will ensure that this season can continue in a sustainable way for our club.

With 32 boys and girls teams; U19 Youth team; 2 post-16 teams in an education partnership with Moreton Morrell College; Ladies team; Veterans team plus a blossoming Under 7-16 Academy and a Pan-Disability coaching programme, the club is truly at the heart of the community. In addition to this, the club runs a wide ranging schools programme plus a whole host of coaching, fitness and well-being initiatives plus school holiday camps. The funding ensures that the good work of the club can continue.

Chairman Jim Scott said, “This helps support the vital work we do in the area. We have almost 600 players taking part in team and organised games every week with another 100 volunteers, coaches and managers supporting that. If you add in all the additional schools and community programmes we probably have another 600-700 interactions each week. When we eventually get fans back in our stadium it means that in any given week we can have about 2000 individuals involved with the club in various forms of activity.

We are a huge community asset. Protecting this, and the work of the other National League clubs, is essential for communities across the country. I can’t thank National Lottery players enough for this lifeline.”

The partnership with The National Lottery will benefit all clubs in the fifth and six tiers of English football, so that they can continue to play behind closed doors after the return of fans was paused due to rising infection rates. As a thank you, National Lottery players, who make a difference every time they buy a ticket, will also get a range of benefits – including free tickets once stadia are safe to reopen, grassroots football opportunities and VIP experiences at Wembley Stadium.

Nigel Railton, Chief Executive of National Lottery operator Camelot, said: “The National Lottery and its players have been making a huge difference to communities across the country for the past 26 years, so we’re delighted to be working with the National League to protect these all-important clubs and help them continue the vital work they carry out locally. They do a fantastic job and I can’t wait to cheer on my local National League side when fans are allowed to return.”

If you watched the live stream of either the Banbury Utd or Boston Utd fixtures, we would be very grateful if you could take the time to answer the questions in this short survey as we look to gather views of the service.
