It takes some doing to make yourself a cult hero in only a dozen games at your new club, yet that is exactly what Rob Evans did after arriving from Halesowen Town in early March 2024. Upon his arrival the central defender stated he wanted to help the club back to Step 2. He was true to his word, and deservedly took the opportunity to play at that level for the first time in his career.

Having captained Halesowen to Northern Premier League Midlands Division Play Off success the previous season Rob began 2023/24 at Coleshill Town, but after returning to Halesowen he became frustrated at the lack of game time, and jumped at the chance to join Leamington. It was a decision he did not regret, and he ended the season with another winners medal and promotion.

He played almost 50 games as part of a squad that comfortably consolidated in the National League North, and as with many of his team mates who had not played at Step 2 before, looked right at home. 

Rob has also previously turned out for Romulus, Stratford Town, Sutton Coldfield Town and Redditch United.
