Will Payne was one of the history making 14 players in the squad on the opening day of the 2000/2001 season as Leamington FC finally stepped back onto the football field after 12 long years at their new stadium, the New Windmill Ground. Along with Brian Agar, Will made more appearances than any player in that first season. He was also responsible along with his father Rex, who was a director for many years, for a lot of the construction work at the ground in the early years, so his name is cemented into the Brakes history books in more ways than one!
