Callum arrived at Leamington as our first new signing of summer 2023 after relegation, with a reputation as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in the area, having helped Walsall Wood into Step 4 for the first time in their history as they won the Midland League title in 2022/23. 

Smith had previously spent time working alongside Tony Breeden at Nuneaton Borough, before dropping down to Step 6 with Wolverhampton Sporting Community. His performances caught the eye of Paul Holleran, and he had the opportunity to test himself at Step 3. However, with the opportunity to re-sign Callum Hawkins after he had recovered from his acl injury being too good to turn down, Smith left to join Stratford Town in the October to get regular game time.
