Darran was a member of the Rushden Town Youth
team before being signed by Bolton Wanderers in 1987. He
returned to Rushen before moving onto Wellingborough Town,
Long Buckby Town, Ford Sports Daventry and Rugby Town (of the
Midland Combination).
He signed for Leamington from Rugby Town at the start of 2004-05
and he became a regular at the heart of the Brakes' defence
where his towering presence and excellent distribution stopped
many a team in its tracks. In 2006 he retired from playing
and became Leamington's Assistant Manager.
Left for personal reasons during season 2007-8.
