Guy Sanders began his career as a trainee
with Reading FC. He eventually captained the club's Youth Team
and was given a professional contract. He did not
make a first team appearance but was an ever-present for the
reserves in 1996-7, playing at both centre half and centre
forward.
He was released and joined Bedworth United, playing
well over 200 games and captaining the side during his 5
years there. Whilst at Bedworth he had trails at Lincoln City
where he was offered a pro contract but turned it down.
In the summer of
2002 he joined Moor Green (now Solihull Moors), making over
200 appearances for the club before being released on loan
to Bromsgrove Rovers, in a move designed to bring him to fitness
after suffering a shoulder injury.
Guy made his full debut for Bromsgrove
in the 0-1 away defeat to Evesham United in the 1st Qualifying
Round of the FA Trophy, played on 21 October 2007.
He signed for Leamington just before Christmas 2007 and is thought by many to have been a superb acquisition. |
