Signed before the start of the 2006-07 season,
Ben was a former member of the Coventry City academy. He
is the youngest player to have played for Coventry City senior
team when on 12 April 2003 at the age of 16 years and 167 days
he came on as a substitute at Highfield Road against Ipswich
Town in the Football League Division One (later renamed to
the League Championship). He made two other appearances
as a substitute in the 2003-4 season season against Stoke City
and Gillingham.
Before the start of the 2005-6 season Ben was on trial with
Linfield, of the Irish Premier League, making four appearances
in preseason games against Carrick Rangers, Ballyclare Comrades,
Dundalk, and Sligo Rovers and scored a goal against Dundalk.
Ben was Brakes' top scorer for two successive seasons. He signed for Brackley for a rumoured significant increase in pay and a two year contract, in late May 2008. |
