Match photos > Bishops Cleeve (H) BGB Midland Division - 29 March 2008
Thanks to Sally Ellis and David Clough for the pics.
A comfortable 2-0 win played in atrocious conditions of very high wind and rain. Apologies for quality of some images: water on camera lens.

Before the game we were introduced to the Leamington Lions Under-11's,
recent winners of
this trophy. Note the shivering: is that the excitement of meeting Club
Chairman David Hucker, or the fact that it was freezing cold? (Sally)

Lions star Pindi was mascot for the day (Sally)

Striker Martin "Clunesy" Thompson made a welcome return and made his
unusual strong contribution. Here attacking the Harbury Lane End in
the first half
(Sally)

The ball moved a great deal in the air, making judgement difficult (Sally)

Although Brakes had the better of the play throughout the game,
Bishops are no fools and made Richard Morris work hard on a number of occasions
(Sally)

Thompson combined well with the lively Justin Marsden (9) (Sally)

Midfield action (Sally)

Martin Thompson closes in on an incoming cross (David)

Jimmy Husband (8), scorer of the opening goal, joins the congratulations
for Brakes second, netted by Marsden on the stroke of half time
(Sally)

Justin proved very difficult to handle (David)

Josh Blake, injured at Stourbridge, receives the proceeds of an impromptu
collection organised by Lizzie Fisher
(Sally)

Hey, hey! See you in Rio's later on, then! Only joking. Josh
tells us he has now invested the cash wisely.
(Sally)

Ryan Parisi joins the attack in the second half (Sally)

Jamie Towers (Sally)

Jimmy Husband (left) had a superb game in centre midfield (Sally)

Justin Marsden so close to a third (Sally)

Adam Cooper and Guy Sanders so strong at the back (Sally)

Marcus Jackson (white boots) in the thick of things (Sally)

Guy Sanders fires one in. Brakes fans behind the North Bank goal
are by this time actually frozen solid
(Sally)

I can think of no caption for this except to ask "what are those two dark, hooded,
figures on the left of the picture doing? The game's over here, pal!"
(Sally)

Jamie takes on the defence (Sally)

We lost count of the corners and crosses in the second half, but
Brakes just could not convert to goals (Sally)

Thompson and Marsden continued to press (Sally)

Marcus Jackson, a real dynamo (Sally)

Jackson (6) gets another attack going (Sally)

Justin Marsden's in best game for Brakes so far (Sally)

Scott Hadland (7) also had an excellent game (Sally)

Plenty of action in the Bishops Cleeve goalmouth (Sally)

Marsden was eventually substituted, Glenn Webb coming on (Sally)

Guy Sanders gets a strong header in (Sally)

More aerial bombardment of the Cleeve goal (Sally)

A welcome if short debut for Shay Morgan (Sally)
