The club wishes to apologise to any fans last Saturday who arrived by car and were unable to see the game having been turned away due to their being no further car parking spaces available on site. Pre-match planning and assessments involving both clubs indicated an attendance in the region of 700-750 although with this being the first meeting between the clubs at our venue we factored in a greater level of variation and put transport and stewarding measures in place to deal with a crowd of approximately 850. We have already conducted a review and will be establishing further contingency measures for future high profile fixtures.
Chairman Jim Scott said, 'I personally apologise to any fans who missed the game. I am responsible for Safety and Match Planning and on this occasion I got it slightly wrong. Kidderminster Harrier fans turned out in far greater numbers (circa 375) than predicted by anyone and the parking/transport plans did not meet the demand. To rub salt in the wound for those who missed out, it was a very good game and atmosphere with no crowd segregation with both sets of fans behaving impeccably. If anyone wishes to speak with me directly re events or offer ideas on how we can improve things then please contact me via email chairman@leamingtonfc.co.uk '
