Paul Holleran has boosted his attacking options by completing the signing of pacey young winger Kaine Felix.
The 22-year-old was released last week by our Vanarama National League North rivals York City, who he signed for in the summer of 2016 after their relegation from the Football League. Kaine found his opportunities limited however, making only 24 appearances and scoring one goal, and was an unused substitute in our recent meeting with the Minstermen.
Towards the back end of last season he spent time on loan at Stockport County. Prior to joining York, Kaine spent two seasons at Boston United (76 appearances 8 goals), their manager at the time Dennis Greene snapping him up from his previous club St Neots Town, where he had been from the age of 16 after beginning his career at Peterborough United. He also earned a call up to the England C squad while with Boston.
Speaking about his latest recruit, the Brakes boss had this to say: ‘Kaine is a player that we knew from our Southern League days when we faced St Neots, and then later at Boston. We showed an interest in signing him after we heard he had been released by York and we are delighted that he has agreed to sign for us. He feels that Leamington is the right club for him to be at and I believe he will be a real asset for us.
‘Kaine is versatile, he scores goals and he is quicker than quick and will provide a future boost of youth and energy to our young squad. I knew when we came into this league that we would need plenty of young energetic talent, and with the likes of Liam Canavan, Kieran Dunbar and Kurtis Revan, Kaine will add to and compliment the players we already have.’
We would like to welcome Kaine to Leamington Football Club, and wish him a successful time with us.
