The club can confirm that Tom James has left to link up with Banbury United. Tom found his opportunities limited again in his third spell with his hometown club, and had only made two appearances from the bench this season, but he did well when called upon last season, and Paul Holleran was certainly disappointed to see him go, while admitting that it would be beneficial for Tom to go out and get game time.
'He's a smashing kid who might not have got the game time that he wanted, but made a massive impact at the football club just through his personality. He was a massive part of the changing room, held things together and for me as a manager was really really good, especially last season. He might not have got the minutes but it was the little things he did, he was very well liked. I hope we haven't seen the last of him but Tom knows as much as we know that he can't carry on with the current predicament, he needs to go and get games. He's linked up with Banbury which is another good football club. He might have a happy and successful time there but he's still registered with us, the door will always be open, but as much as I like Tom James personally, we both knew he needed to go and get some games of football.
