Striker Stefan Moore will remain with Brakes for the forthcoming season after accepting a player-coach role at the club.
The 33 year old has scored 35 goals in 81 appearances over his three spells at the club, and will remain a member of the first team squad but will also work alongside Martyn Naylor in a coaching capacity.
Moore may not have lit up Leamington’s promotion push with goals after he returned to the club at the back end of March but he had an increasing influence towards the end of the season, and played a big part in helping Brakes into the play off final. His experience and know how will be invaluable in National League North, where he as well as with us he also scored plenty of goals for Solihull Moors as he helped them to the title in 2015/2016.
Paul Holleran declared himself ‘delighted that Stefan has taken up our offer of working alongside Martyn on the training pitch whilst continuing as a member of the playing squad. With the number of young attacking players we have in the squad, having somebody like Stefan around, who already had a good voice in the changing room, will help to bring them on a bit more. It is a role that he is relishing, and one which I think he will do well in.
