With a number of issues surrounding members of the Brakes squad at present, Paul Holleran has issued the following update today.
After his unfortunate clash of heads with Dunstable defender Sam Doolan on Tuesday evening, Darren Pond is ok but a little sore. He did hurt his knee when landing after the clash however, so we will continue to monitor him and hope that he will be available for Saturday's trip to Frome.
I have been in contact with Dunstable this morning and they informed me that Sam was kept in hospital overnight for observation with a view to having a scan to check for a potential hairline crack or fracture on his skull. It goes without saying that we wish him all the best.
Jamie Hood sustained a knee injury in Saturday's defeat to Hitchin, we don't yet know the full extent of it as we are waiting for the swelling to go down, but I expect him to be out for two or three weeks.
Ryan Rowe was involved in a road traffic incident on the way home from Saturday's match. He is ok, but I have given him some time off to get things sorted out.
On a separate note I was delighted to be able to bring Dan Preston across on loan from AFC Telford United with the help of the 12th man fund. His arrival helps to boost the squad a bit during a busy month, as we are becoming a little stretched with Jamie Hood out, and Jack Edwards beginning a two match suspension this Saturday.
