Leamington FC is an FA Charter Standard Club

Latest community news!
We are pleased to announce that Russell Davis will become the Community Development Director of Leamington FC with immediate effect.

On the appointment of Russell Davis, Club Chairman Jim Scott said "The board felt Russell was an ideal candidate to drive forward and co-ordinate community initiatives. As we enter into an era where we are seeking to develop our links with the community at all levels and attain FA Charter Community Club status it was important that we appointed an individual who has the necessary skills and abilities. Russell ticks all the boxes. He has the commitment, is local and has already proved himself adept at maximising funding opportunities, as well as having business skills and local links that will be an asset. He has real passion for developing the club for the community and wants to work really closely with important bodies such as the FA, local council and sporting bodies".

Russell has been involved with Leamington Lions Girls FC since March 2006 and become the Manager of Leamington Ladies in December 2006. He has been involved across the club in helping develop the infrastructure of the lions and working with the FA to develop the lions club which has over 8 teams this season. Paul O’Rafferty took over the role of manager of Leamington Lions Ladies at the start of this season.

Russell’s family has been in the town since 1839 and his family in the last 5 generations have been involved in community work. His father and mother have both been the Mayor of Leamington and his father was Chairman of Warwickshire County Council in 2006.

Russell joined Calor Gas Ltd in 1997 as a qualified accountant and is currently Central Operations Manager based in Leamington Spa and Director of a number of Gas Companies across the UK.

On his appointment Russell said "It is with pleasure that I accept this challenging role of developing the community club over the next few years and look forward to working with the Brakes and Lions and Leamington FC teams and working closely with the FA and local councils and sporting bodies to make Leamington FC a community club to be proud of".

Chairman Jim Scott will now concentrate on the roles of Communications and Football Development as the club continues to strengthen for the future.
